Tired of being inactive, overweight and with no support to become more active?

To commemorate the new year, we will be focussed on giving back to the community that has supported our services over the years.

At The Cupping Therapy, we have been working for nearly 10 years to help you manage and reduce your ailments through powerful advice that targets the source of the issue; and following through with practical steps to help with the detox process. This two-pronged approach will help to prevent those toxins from building up again.

Our passion is in helping others overcome ailments by swapping out bad lifestyle choices with good lifestyle choices – and with a continued effort, hopefully that will lead to a higher quality of life.

But why do we have to wait until we’re ill to act and improve our lifestyles? Our clinic will always highlight the old adage, “prevention is better than cure” – so let’s couple this talk with some new action.

We’ve been busy working in the background, working on setting up a new initiative for our lovely clients, friends and supporters. And already, we are receiving a greast response to this initiative with over 100 people engaging at the time of publishing!

So today, we will officially open this initiative to you and anyone else around the country that would like to help increase your fitness in a fun, relaxed environment of other like-minded people.

Our new initiative is a family-friendly hiking group that is aiming to organise as least one hike per month around the country (our youngest participant was only 7 years old). It’s free to join and you don’t need to feel compelled to come on a particular hike if you feel it may be too advanced/easy for you. The only costs are transport, parking and food which you can arrange yourself if you have the means. Or you can join our car-sharing and food-sharing schemes at a small cost.

A recent article from The Guardian explains just how beneficial walking is: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/jul/28/its-a-superpower-how-walking-makes-us-healthier-happier-and-brainier?CMP=fb_gu&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook#Echobox=1577864997

So what excuse do you have now for not joining in??

We’ve started this group on Whatsapp – you can join via clicking here: https://chat.whatsapp.com/EeAVIAz3UBdHjTChwnpzV6

UPDATE: We’ve closed the WhatsApp group and migrated to Telegram. The new features on Telegram such as Polling and heightened security and privacy features drew us to use this app instead so that we can work to form a stronger foundation and structure to increase the longevity of this project.

Be warned though – there’s a lot of banter going on in there – but it’s all part of creating that warm and welcoming environment for us to bond over.

When you join, please do introduce yourself, but also please abide by these few simple rules:

  • keep checking the group description for details of the upcoming hike
  • keep inviting your friends and family and whoever you feel would be interested in participating
  • keep topics relevant in this group – please don’t send forwarded messages (junk mail style) or else you will be removed from the group
  • share any advice you come across at improving your outdoor game (including if you find some bargain equiopment for sale!)
  • share outdoor events you come across that involve improving your fitness
  • be respectful of one another
  • encourage each other to keep being active!

This group is intended for everyone, no matter what your faith, ethnicity, background, gender or even age is.

We will have events to suit a whole range of abilities, so feel free to join in on those hikes as you wish – and as our group grows, the talent and frequency of these events will increase.

Finally, once you’ve been sent the invite link, feel free to use the group invite link to invite and include others – please ask anyone new to introduce themselves once they’ve joined. Please contact us for the invite link.

So who said that therapy can’t be fun?? Join us and many other like-minded individuals who are also trying to improve their health by getting rid of that sedentary lifestyle.

NB: We are not an official hiking company, therefore, we are not insured as such on these hikes – if you join a hike, you join as a normal member of public hiking on a public walking route; and that you happen to be hiking with other people that you may or may not be familiar with. Which means that The Cupping Therapy cannot be held liable for any injuries or anything worse. However, we have many first aid trained members and some very proficient hikers amongst us that are willing to help if needed. The discussions within the Telegram group will revolve around making it as safe as possible for all the participants – so please put forward any questions to the Telegram group.
